Why it matters

ntfy is a simple, open-source push notification service. Quackback publishes to a topic you control, so you get an instant alert on your phone or desktop the moment feedback comes in, a status changes, or someone comments. Use the free ntfy.sh service or your own self-hosted server — no account, no third-party cloud, no email delay.

01 · Setup

Connect ntfy in three steps

01

Create or choose an ntfy topic and subscribe to it in the ntfy app

Pick a hard-to-guess topic name on ntfy.sh (or your own server) and subscribe to it in the ntfy mobile or desktop app.

02

Paste your topic URL in Quackback and save

In Quackback, paste your topic URL (and an optional access token), then Save — a test notification confirms it works.

03

Choose which events send a notification

Select which events trigger an alert: new feedback, status changes, or new comments.

02 · Why

Why connect Quackback to ntfy

01

Real-time alerts the moment something happens

Notifications fire the instant feedback is submitted, a status changes, or a comment is posted. No polling, no email delay — just an immediate push to your device.

02

Notify any device — iOS, Android, or desktop via the ntfy app or web

ntfy delivers push notifications to iOS, Android, and desktop browsers. Subscribe to your topic once and receive alerts on every device where you have the app or browser tab open.

03

Use ntfy.sh or your own self-hosted server

Point Quackback at the public ntfy.sh service or any self-hosted ntfy instance. No third-party account or cloud dependency required.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an ntfy account?

No. ntfy.sh topics are public and require no signup — just pick a hard-to-guess topic name, or use an access token for a protected topic.

Can I use my own ntfy server?

Yes, any public HTTPS ntfy server works. Servers reachable only on a private network are not supported.
